Off to a Great Start
Well my days as a Grizzly have officially begun - School has started, football players are in pads today, and my students seem ready for the new year.
The first days of school are interesting for me. I really try to put time and effort toward getting to know my students and letting them get to know me. I probably goof around too much, but I am hopeful that this allows students that chance to become comfortable with my classroom and my personality. We just participated in a "Chronological Story of Our Lives" activity and it is amazing the difficulties my students face but still show up to school with a smile on their face. My life growing up was a cake-walk compared to what some of these kids are going through.

Are Wind Farms the Answer?

Trying to rectify the energy crisis many communities are turning to wind energy or wind farms to supplement their electricity output. There is no doubt that the "Green Energy Revolution" is the next wave in renewable energy, but the question addressed in this article is the massive undertaking required to create enough wind turbines and get them online - Are we making progress really? Or are we wasting energy trying to push these wind turbines when they do not return enough energy to justify our physical and financial sacrifices.
